Lecture Summary:

The practice of safe and effective anaesthesia is an essential skill for veterinary nurses.

This advanced day will look at the various aspects of anaesthesia including pre-anaesthesia planning and preparation, cardiovascular (including indicators of circulation (pulse and heart rate and rhythm, including ECG, blood pressure, central venous pressure, and indicators of oxygenation (pulse oximetry and blood gas analysis) and respiratory monitoring (including respiratory rate and character, tidal volume, capnography and blood gas analysis), understanding the effects of our anaesthetic agents, as well as pain assessment and scoring
